AP Language is about becoming a flexible, confident thinker and writer. The big test in May has three parts:

  • Multiple Choice (rhetorical analysis + reading skills)

  • Rhetorical Analysis Essay

  • Argument Essay

  • Synthesis Essay

Your job is to:

  • Read critically

  • Analyze purpose and technique

  • Write clearly, with strong structure and style

Start now by building:

  • Vocabulary for tone and diction

  • Familiarity with rhetorical strategies

  • Speed and stamina for timed writing

Remember: You’re not just reading to understand—you’re reading to analyze. Every choice a writer makes is fair game for discussion.
