AP Language is about becoming a flexible, confident thinker and writer. The big test in May has three parts:
Multiple Choice (rhetorical analysis + reading skills)
Rhetorical Analysis Essay
Argument Essay
Synthesis Essay
Your job is to:
Read critically
Analyze purpose and technique
Write clearly, with strong structure and style
Start now by building:
Vocabulary for tone and diction
Familiarity with rhetorical strategies
Speed and stamina for timed writing
Remember: You’re not just reading to understand—you’re reading to analyze. Every choice a writer makes is fair game for discussion.
